Sometimes inspiration can rise from bad experiences or events. Over the last year, a lot of kindie artists wrote and recorded songs to teach kids how to stay safe during the early unknowns of the pandemic and others released songs of hope to keep spirits up. Erica Rabner is one of the kindie artists who’s done both. She released The Covid Album: Songs to Help Kids and Families Cope in February, intended to help younger kids in the Pre-K and Kindergarten range learn about safety measures they can take.
She’s releasing her next album, We Got This, on April 23rd. It’s geared toward kids in the older elementary school age bracket. “I wanted to offer optimistic anthems celebrating how we’ve coped and how we continue to support one another. Now that we’re seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, it helps to reflect on what we have been going through,” says Rabner. The album takes listeners through the past year, touching on the nervousness, isolation, and fear of not knowing what was going to happen.
“We Got This” is the first single from the album and references those early uncertain times, but highlights the moments we stayed strong and persisted through this strange experience. Watch the new lyric video below. The single is also available to stream or purchase.
