With only two albums under their belt, The Oot n’ Oots have already made quite an impression on the kindie music scene. They’ll drop their third album, Ponderosa Bunchgrass and the Golden Rule, in September. Last summer we got a taste of what they’re cooking up for album number three with the song “Thank You Universe“.
Now we have another musical nugget from the next album with the song “Pets”. The band says it’s “a love song in the truest sense of the phrase”. They add, “It’s an ode to our four-legged companions.” The instrumentation on this song is impressive. Along with guitar and drums, we get a violin, glockenspiel, and an accordion.
There’s also a new lyric video along with the release of the single. Its visuals are simplistic yet it has a beautiful vintage feel to it. The illustrations “harken back to the Sesame Street aesthetic of the ’70s”, the band says.
